About Kirsty
Hi. Nice to meet you - I’m Kirsty. Oxfordshire + Cardiff- based interior stylist and visual merchandiser. For over fifteen years, I’ve been bringing spaces to life with honest design and beautifully made products.
Where it all began
I began my career as a visual merchandiser for two of the country’s most well-known retail brands - Habitat + Topshop. Life was fast-paced and exciting. I spent my days + nights bringing these brands to life through styling, staging and window dressing. I created the right look, touch and feel for the thousands and thousands of customers who walked through the doors.
In 2007, with a degree in design and love for natural materials, I launched my own range of sculptural wooden light shades - Sphery. Each Sphery pendant creates playful shadows and a functional light. The right styling and staging was so important for showcasing my range + played a huge part in its success.
The years I spent as a lighting designer were some of the most inspiring of my career. I built a network of incredibly talented UK-based designer-makers who were creating everyday items that prioritised function and form. In 2014, I opened my own homewares shop - home byKirsty.
HBK was a space where my love for curating and styling came to life. Located in Cardiff’s city centre, my little shop was home to some of the country’s best homegrown design talent. I hand picked each product I sold to create the aspirational but affordable style that HBK was known for - everyday items, beautifully made, to last and love forever.
Interior styling
From photographers, interior designers, new brands to architects, HBK gave me the opportunity to work alongside some incredible businesses on larger and small styling projects. This is where I am today. With every new project, I bring together my years of experience to do what I LOVE. Whether it’s a shop in need of a refresh or window display, a family looking to declutter or a home preparing to sell, through considered and design-led styling, I help my clients fall in love with their spaces and reach whatever goals they may have.

Throughout my time building and growing my business I learnt a lot from the ground up. Working for myself, by myself, I faced all the struggles that small business owners are up against every day, so have the first hand experience and empathy needed to offer a helping hand.
