5 years of HBK. A dream that I made true.

This August sees Home byKirsty turning 5.

That’s FIVE whole years of growing the shop, moving from the city centre to Roath, stocking more incredible designers and makers and all whilst developing my online presence.

What a ride it's been!

The BIG NEWS: I’m shutting the shop door

It is with some sadness because of course I’m going to miss the shop shuffles + lush chats with my amazing customers and excitement- my plans for the website are HUGE! I have made my biggest decision yet about Home byKirsty.

On August 31 I will be CLOSING the brick-and-mortar shop side of the business.

Online only from September

Five years seems like the perfect time to make some big changes. So, from September, Home byKirsty will be going EXCLUSIVELY ONLINE. (My home studio will be open by appointment to view HBK products).

All products will still be available through my website once the physical shop is closed and my goal is to have a Royal Mail bag full of orders every day by the end of the year! (I will do this!!)

From September 1st, it’s all online, baby!

What’s next: Styling + Visual Merchandising

I'll be shifting my focus from running the physical shop to working more on styling and visual merchandising - a part of the business I've been developing over the past few months.

I offer a styling service to businesses who need an interior design refresh, or styling to accompany photographing your business.

5 years of HBK: How I got here

In 2014 I opened Home byKirsty in Castle Arcade, completely self-funded. I had no investment, no loans, no funders or backers.

I filled the shelves with stock from 25 incredible designers + makers, many of them I still stock today.

Looking back on all the photos has made me realise how the shop has grown and what I have achieved in five short years. I have met the most amazing designers, makers, business owners and, of course, customers - so many of who are now amazing friends!

I run the business on my own. I'm the shop assistant, visual merchandiser, social media manager, packer of online sales: the list is endless. Two beautiful girls have been by my side supporting me and keeping me motivated - Nat and Sophie P. (I truly can not thank you enough!)

The community that you build around you when you run a business on your own is so vital.
